I'm Jade. When I was 4 years old my grandma bought me a book from our local hospice called "My First Atlas". I could not put the book down. I would frequently sit with my eyes closed dropping a finger on the world map and taking myself on a imaginary journey to that country.

It wasn't until I was around 20 years old that I was able to turn some of these imaginary adventures into a reality. My first significant trips to Italy and the Balkans fuelled my desire to experience the world. What really interests me about travel is culture, how people live and experience the world differently, and our incredible natural world. I enjoy unique experiences and seek these out wherever I can. I'm not a full time traveller or backpacker but a normal individual in a full time job who is passionate about exploring as much of the world as I can, whenever I can. Credits to My First Atlas for igniting this passion.

This blog has initially been created as an account of my project in Kenya this December 2017 but in the future you can expect that it will be filled with hints and tips about unusual places to stay, experiencing the great outdoors, volunteerism and culture.
